Easy to maintain, Guêpes & Papillons combs and brushes will accompany you faithfully.
Dampening your brush regularly with a drop of water will help protect it; so will lathering it occasionally with mild soap. We also recommend hydrating the horn and bristles, every year, with sweet oil on a cloth, in order for them to maintain their shine and health.
Horn, Wood and Bristles are natural components that react to their environment; make sure to keep your brush away from hot or damp surfaces, such as heaters.
Washing your brush with aggressive shampoo or shower gel is not advisable as it may reduce the shine of the brush and disrupt the balance of its structure.
Brushing your hair is the best way to maintain your G&P brush or comb. Indeed, similarly to human hair, horn and animal bristles are keratin structured; on one hand they will be fed by the sebum produced by the scalp and on the other hand they will come to bring it to the tips of the hair.

Similarly to the brush, the maintenance of the comb merely consists of a regular dampening, an occasional wash with mild soap, and a yearly hydration with sweet oil.
Beware: shampoos and shower gels are just as aggressive on brushes as they are on combs.
Do not use it to apply a hair dye in order to avoid change in the color of your comb and damages to its solidity.
Although it is possible to use your horn comb on wet hair, avoid using it in the shower as too much moisture could distort it.
